Five digi-paper ideas

You know, I’m not a huge digi-girl (one of those things I wish to be good at and will someday devote time to!), but love the patterned paper I use so much I look for ways to stretch it and use it in more ways than one.  Whether you use actual digital paper or the regular touchable kind (scan the design into your photo editing software which I what I did with the paper from Basic Grey’s Mellow line above) here’s a few ideas to take those luscious patterns and use them in other places besides your next fantastic layout.

1.  Print on a transparency for a unique embellishment (think patterned “ghost” shapes and custom overlays)

 2.  Print onto an iron on sheet to create a cool t-shirt.  Make a matching one for your husband and you’ll be the coolest couple at the next scrapbook expo you drag him too.. HA! (no honey I wouldn’t do that to you)

3.  Crop your favorite part of the design and print custom personal stationary.  Match your next Christmas letter to the pp you use to make your cards.

4.  Make your favorite PP your computer’s desktop image.  (To change your desktop image, go to ”Start”, “Control Panel”,   “Appearances and Themes”, and I’m sure you can figure it out from there)

5.  Print onto printable fabric and sew into a project… if I were talented enough to make a quilt from squares of Basic Grey or Crate Paper I’d do it tonight!

Just remember these fun tips are for your personal use, and you shouldn’t re-use a copied pattern in anything commercial without permission… copyright and all that yada yada… I’m not sure what the rule is on it, but feel the need to say so since I’m a goody two-shoes. :)  Thanks for stopping by today!

(P.S. Make sure you check in here on Sunday, I’ve got an idea for something challenge based that will include printable inspiration for you to collect and keep!)

  1. Great idea! This is also great for when you need to extend your real paper just a little (if you run out and still need a sliver, on a cold snowy night, with a dead battery….LOL).

  2. Great tips! I wish I was good at digi, I want to learn it someday. But first I guess I would have to buy some type of software…

Thanks for visiting my blog, you’re welcome to drop by anytime. Loved yours :)
